INTERTANKO seeking Senior Marine Manager

Members are advised that an exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Senior Marine Manager with INTERTANKO, based in the Association's London Office.

Direct responsibilities will relate to ports/terminals, security/piracy and human element issues. Responsibilities will also include the provision of assistance to the Marine Director in vetting and marine matters, and the applicant will be required to represent the Association internationally at a senior level.

The applicant should be very familiar with the operational and regulatory environment surrounding ports & terminals and crew welfare and will be expected to demonstrate a good knowledge in areas such as MARPOL Annex I, ISGOTT, STCW, SOLAS, ILO180 and MLC 2006. He/she will also need a sound knowledge of the inter-relationship between shipping companies and P&I Clubs, H&M insurance, classification, IMO and industry organisations, and shipping agency networks.

The applicant will therefore probably have a shore-based background in the oil or chemical tanker sector with managerial/operational experience at a senior level. Seagoing and CSO experience is not a pre-requisite; however, either one would be a distinct advantage.

To be suitable for this role the applicant should be self-motivated with a proven ability not only to work autonomously but also collaboratively with diverse teams. He/she must be able to manage, plan and track projects, with a strong focus on details, build relationships, communicate and negotiate effectively.

An excellent command of the English language is an absolute necessity; applicants must have EU working entitlement.

Please apply with an up-to-date CV addressing the points raised above to our retained representatives Spinnaker Consulting Ltd: The applicant can also apply online at
