INTERTANKO hosts regional Vetting Seminar in Singapore

INTERTANKO’s regional Asian Office in Singapore hosted this week a Vetting Seminar for members in the region, arranged by Tim Wilkins, the Association's Regional Asian & Environmental Manager. The Seminar was attended by 60 delegates and was chaired by the INTERTANKO Vetting Committee Chairman, Capt. Bob Bishop.

The main thrust of the Seminar was focused on the INTERTANKO Tanker Officer Training Standards (TOTS) system, which is being developed by INTERTANKO and was presented by Capt. Howard Snaith (INTERTANKO Marine Director). A copy of the presentation may be accessed here .

There was lively debate both before and after the presentation which also included updates on the recently upgraded INTERTANKO Terminal Vetting Database, as issued in our Weekly NEWS, which now includes requirements for "Terminal Comments" as well as the INTERTANKO Vetting Inspection Feedback Form and the newly released 7th edition of the INTERTANKO publication 'A Guide to the Vetting Process'.

INTERTANKO thanks all the delegates for actively contributing to the discussions, which continued at a short cocktail reception afterwards.
