The American Petroleum Institute will hold the Tanker Conference 2000 on 19-20 June 2000, at Hilton La Jolla at Torrey Pines, La Jolla, California.

The Tanker Conference 2000 is an ideal opportunity for senior maritime industry representatives and government officials to meet and discuss the issues that are shaping the future of the marine transport industry. 

An outstanding group of distinguished panellists will share their knowledge and experience in an interactive workshop format. Opening Remarks and Closing Comments will be given by Tom Moore, President of Chevron Shipping Company, an INTERTANKO associate member. He will also be Moderator in the Panel Discussion: “Trends in Energy and Shipping”, in which Bjorn Moller of Teekay Shipping, INTERTANKO member, will be a panellist. Ed Roland of Teekay Shipping (U.S.) Inc., a co-member of INTERTANKO, will be Moderator at the Panel Discussion “Industry sectors address the questions – Is tanker quality improving? Has ISM changed anything?”. As panellists in this Discussion will be i.a. George Greenwood of The Steamship Mutual Underwriting Association Ltd., INTERTANKO associate member; Robert Kramek of ABS Americas, co-associate member of INTERTANKO; and Tom Olinger of Chevron Shipping Company, INTERTANKO associate member.  

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to not only meet the key players, but also gain a first-hand understanding of how industry leaders are meeting today’s challenges to create a safer and more efficient tanker industry.
