NIGERIA - OIL WORKERS ON STRIKE

Nigeria's senior staff association of oil workers (Pengasson) has started an indefinite strike in protest against alleged disparity in the salary scale of indigenous staff and that of their expatriate counterparts. Reports indicate that operations at all terminals are currently not being disrupted.  However, the strike may start to affect operations shortly if a settlement is not reached between striking workers and management.

More information will be given as it becomes available

QATAR/RAS LAFFAN - DREDGING

From 23 November 2000 and for two weeks thereafter dredging activities will take place in connection with the new Service Berth at Ras Laffan Port.  A dredger and split-barge is positioned off the Tug Berth and moored by the means of two anchors marked by buoys which will NOT be marked by lights at night.
