The MPA of Singapore stresses that it is mandatory for all bunkers suppliers to comply with the Singapore Bunkering Code CP60 for bunkering operations in the port waters, but not for those outside the port limits. INTERTANKO would like information from members on bunker shortages.

Following our article in Weekly News No. 19/2001, regarding a meeting with the Singapore Mpa to discuss bunkering and revision of the Singapore bunkering code CP60,  INTERTANKO was contacted by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA) of Singapore to further highlight their concern about the bunker shortages as mentioned in our report.

They reiterated that it is mandatory for all bunker suppliers to comply with the Singapore Standard for bunkering (SS CP 60) when delivering bunkers to vessels in the port waters, but they wished to emphasise that it does not apply to bunkering operations outside the port limits.

We would like to request our members to provide information on cases of bunker shortages and other details such as dates and locations of bunker supply, names of vessels, bunker tankers and bunker suppliers in order for us to effectively request the MPA to follow up on reported short deliveries. Please contact Ms Minerva Alfonso on e-mail or Mr Dragos Rauta on e-mail
