INTERTANKO SPEAKS AT SHIPPING 21 ON ‘INITIATIVES TO ENHANCE TANKER SHIPPING’

INTERTANKO’s Regional Manager for Asia-Pacific, John Fawcett-Ellis, presented a paper at the Singapore Shipowners’ Conference on 24 October 2002.

INTERTANKO’s Regional Manager for Asia-Pacific, John Fawcett-Ellis, presented a paper at the Singapore Shipowners’ Conference on 24 October 2002, entitled “Initiatives to Enhance Tanker Shipping”, a copy of which can be viewed here.

 

This paper was part of a session entitled ‘Safe Navigation and The Marine Environment’ and included papers presented by Mr Michael Julian, Chairman of the IMO MEPC, on marine environmental initiatives at the IMO; Capt James Garrett, US Coast Guard, on enhancing maritime safety and security; Mr Chris Horrocks, ICS, on the IMO its policies and challenges for the future; Mr Ugo Salerno, IACS, on class initiatives to enhance bulk carrier safety; Capt James Fong, Singapore Nautical Institute, on worries and concerns of navigating through the Malacca and Singapore Straits; and Mr Guoy Tong Kiat on the Marine Electronic Highway project for the Straits.
