New voluntary Right Whale speed restriction zone
The NOAA Fisheries Service has announced a voluntary vessel speed restriction zone (Dynamic Management Area – DMA) in the vicinity of Jeffreys Ledge to protect an aggregation of four right whales sighted in this area on January 19, 2012. Oil supply and demand in 2012 and in the long term
There are several interesting points pertaining to oil demand that have come to light. Australia/Newcastle – increase in port charges
With effect from 27 February, a rate increase will come into effect for some services at the port. The Navigation Service Charge has changed, rising from AUD 0.4312 per GT to AUD 0.4476 per GT (GST inclusive). The Maximum charge has also changed from AUD 45,850 to AUD 47,592 (GST inclusive).
