Nigeria declared free of ebola

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared Nigeria free of ebola following a successful campaign of tracing and quarantining suspected individuals. This, backed up by effective healthcare, has led to a point in time where no new cases were reported for 42 days, a period of time that is important as this is double the incubation period for the virus.
