Guide to the California Air Resources Board (CARB) 2020 At-Berth Regulation

The CARB At-Berth emissions control requirements entered into force on 1 January 2025 for tanker vessels that would visit Ports of Los Angeles or Long Beach, California, US.
The Regulation will apply to all remaining tanker vessels in California from 1 January 2027.
The purpose of the INTERTANKO Guide is to assist Members in complying with the CARB 2020 At-Berth Regulation by providing assessments for various compliance pathways.
It is built on INTERTANKO’s work with OCIMF through the Working Group on Onshore Power Supply (WG/OPS) and the Working Group on Emissions Capture and Control (WG/ECC).
