Use of Pressurised Habitats for Hot Work Repairs On Board Floating LNG Installations

INTERTANKO’s Gas Tanker Committee has released the 1st edition of its guidance document covering Use of Pressurised Habitats for Hot Work Repairs On Board Floating LNG Installations.
With the growing number of Floating LNG installations and the unavoidable need for hot work repairs, often performed inside pressurised habitats, growing concerns over the absence of any industry guidance on the subject was expressed by INTERTANKO Members.
Operators were left to their own devices to determine minimum safe criteria and this guidance addresses the gap, providing technology and process descriptions, as well as elements for risk assessment considerations and a practical safety checklist.
