President of Hanjin Shipping receives International Maritime Hall of Fame Award

The President and CEO of Hanjin Shipping, JW Park, has been honoured with the International Maritime Hall of Fame Award by the Maritime Association of the Port of New York and New Jersey -  the largest maritime association in the U.S., founded in 1874. The awards ceremony took place this week at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.

Since 1994, leaders who have made great contributions to, or had significant influence on, the maritime industry have been selected for the International Maritime Hall of Fame Award. Previous recipients include former FMC Chairman Helen Delich Bentley, former Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta and Chairman and CEO of OOIL CC Tung.

The International Maritime Hall of Fame Awards are presented in recognition of a lifetime of significant achievement as determined by peers and clients, and for an inspiring and empowering vision for the future of the industry.

In addition to Park, who was honoured in the Container Carrier category, other honorees included the administrator, Panama Canal Authority, Alberto Aleman Zubieta.
