Ship emissions on the agenda at ICAP-Riverlake seminar

As one of the principal presenters at the recent ICAP-Riverlake seminar in Paris, INTERTANKO's Managing Director Dr Peter Swift spoke on "Air Emissions from Shipping: Regulations and Challenges". In his talk he covered international and regional regulations of both toxic and greenhouse gas emissions, highlighting the many issues and challenges involved.

Not least he emphasised that more consideration should be given to the ramifications for the seafarer of new regulations and legislation at the IMO and elsewhere (e.g. inter alia ballast water, multi fuels, emissions abatement technologies).
